Startup helps new mums lose over 75,000 kgs!

A little less than two years ago, Sydney-sider Rhian Allen, a mother of one, launched her own weight-loss business ( designed for women.

After studying nutrition, Rhian ditched her 12 year media career behind to pursue her dreams; running her own business in the health and weight loss industry. In August 2011, Lose Baby Weight won ‘Best Customer Service Award and the Emerging Mumpreneur of the Year Award’ at the annual AusMumpreneur Awards.

Since launching the Company in 2010, Lose Baby Weight has helped mums across the country and New Zealand lose over 75,000 kg and regain their energy and health post pregnancy. The programs are specifically designed around realistic goals for mums who are physically and mentally ready to say good-bye to the extra pounds gained during pregnancy.

In an attempt to boost motivation, Rhian introduced a new ‘free members’ area enabling women to track their weight loss, which features tracking graphs, BMI and measurements tools, plus a exercise tracking system that calculates  daily, weekly and monthly figures. She has also added a report section where mums can record their daily notes.

In just under two years, the site has built a huge audience base, and has an extremely active social media following of over 15,000, all talking and sharing stories about products they have bought through the site.

The new ‘free members’ area allows users to share their results across social media platforms if they wish, adding to the acquisition strategy of
readership, an extremely smart move by Rhian.

Health is the key word with this online business, and there are no accelerants in the products available on the site.

Each food and recipe plan is designed in conjunction with leading nutritionist recommendations and exercise schedules are planned by a qualified post natal fitness expert.
