Meet Ben Bradshaw, an online pioneer at 27.

Local internet marketing pioneer and founder of Director of Australia’s largest Australian owned AdWords Management Company, 27-year-old Ben Bradshaw, has recently been named in the Hot 30 Under 30 2011 line-up.

Each year, the renowned online SME and entrepreneurship publication identifies the country’s top aspiring business owners and entrepreneurs under the age of 30. described Mr Bradshaw, whose business SponsoredLinX operates from its Annerley premises, as ‘something akin to a Jedi Master’ in the world of search engine marketing.

The Parkinson-based entrepreneur, whose company is among a select few of handpicked Google Authorized resellers worldwide (which means its AdWords management team directly train with Google) first identified his knack for internet marketing about seven years ago, when he was a young magician trying to get more corporate bookings.

“Traditional advertising simply wasn’t working and after trying many different advertising methods, months of research and self education on Google AdWords, I managed to figure out how to best increase my web traffic and maintain a steady stream of bookings, which resulted in enormous growth for my magic business.”

After witnessing his success with AdWords and the benefit it gave to his business, Mr Bradshaw’s friends, who were all entrepreneurs, started to ask for his assistance in fuelling online traffic and growth for their own businesses.

“I would set-up their Google AdWords accounts and then share various tips and tricks on how to effectively maintain the accounts.”

When their businesses started to experience measurable success as a result of online marketing, Mr Bradshaw decided that the next logical step for him was to hang his magician’s straight jacket up and start a business dedicated to offering other businesses Google AdWords Management services; thus SponsoredLinX was born.

In just four years, the company, which provides a range of SEO and online marketing services, has won big-named clients including the Australian Government, ANZ and insurance giant NRMA. It recorded revenue of $3.7 million in 2009-10, with average annual growth in the past three years of 88%.

Mr Bradshaw’s next milestone is to be a book he is releasing at Sydney’s Googleplex in July – Australia’s first DIY book on internet marketing.
